Boston College will play the University of Arizona on Dec. 31 in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, La., according to a release from the BC athletics department on Sunday night.
The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools, and will feature two of the nation's top running backs in Heisman candidate Andre Williams and Arizona's Ka'Deem Carey.
Williams leads the country with 2,102 rushing yards, and Carey is fifth in the country with 1,706 rushing yards.
BC rebounded from a 2-10 season last year, finishing the 2013 campaign with a record of 7-5 and returning to a bowl game for the first time since the 2010 season. That year, the Eagles fell to Colin Kaepernick's Nevada Wolfpack, 20-13.
The bowl's conference tie-ins typically pit ACC and SEC teams against one another, but Arizona, a PAC-12 team, is replacing the SEC's No. 10 seed.
ESPN will televise the game, which is set to start at 12:30 p.m. EST on New Year's Eve Day.
